The Emergency Store LLC may need to collect sales tax on your purchases, even if tax was not collected on your prior orders. Please read through the information below to see if we collect tax in your state.
State laws require The Emergency Store LLC to collect sales tax in the following states:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, & Wyoming.
If your organization is tax exempt, please email your sales tax exemption certificate to accounting@shopemergencystore.com.
**Sales tax cannot be removed or refunded for payments made via credit card. Please follow the steps in the next section prior to making a payment.
To place a tax-exempted order:
- Add your products and quantities to your cart; when your are ready, click "Checkout."
- "Sign In" or Enter Customer Information.
- Enter "Shipping/Pickup Information."
- Choose "Shipping Option."
- Enter "Tax Exempt" under "Special Instructions."
- Choose "Pay by Check" under "Payment."
**Please note, sales tax may still appear on your online order but will be removed in the next step.
If your account has been previously established, within one (1) business day, you will receive an emailed invoice with sales tax removed from accounting@shopemergencystore.com.
The invoice can be paid using any major credit or debit card, Automated Clearing House (ACH), PayPal, Venmo, or mailed check. Products will be sent once payment in full is received by The Emergency Store LLC.

If your account has been previously established, within one (1) business day, you will receive an emailed invoice with sales tax removed from accounting@shopemergencystore.com.
The Emergency Store LLC will apply sales tax to the ship-to address for any order. You must submit sales tax exemption certifications that include any and all states where your organization should not be charged sales taxed. If The Emergency Store LLC does not have a sales tax exemption certificate for a ship-to address, sales tax will be applied to the order.
All products are eligible to be taxed.
Quotes may or may not reflect estimated tax based upon your ship-to address. Please ensure that your organization is accounting for possible sales tax for any quote. Actual tax will only be calculated on an invoiced order.
