National Association of EMTs (NAEMT) Products

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) is a professional association representing emergency medical technicians (EMTs), advanced EMTs, paramedics, and specialty paramedics, and support personnel through advocacy, education, and research.

NAEMT stands for National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.

You obtain NAEMT certification cards by completing a NAEMT-approved training course and passing the NAEMT certification exam. The specific requirements for obtaining NAEMT certification vary depending on the level of certification you are seeking.

To become an NAEMT instructor, you must: 

1. Be a current NAEMT member,
2. Have a minimum of two years of experience as an EMT or paramedic,
3. Complete an NAEMT instructor training course, and
4. Pass the NAEMT instructor certification exam.

AEMT certifications are valid for four years. To maintain your certification, you must complete a certain number of continuing education credits each year.

To prepare for NAEMT paramedic certification:

1. Complete a NAEMT-approved paramedic training course,
2. Take practice exams,
3. Join a study group, or
4. Talk to other paramedics.
